Things are a little bit different this week, as I’m participating in the Fifth Annual Knitting & Crochet Blog Week! My challenge is to post every day according to a set schedule. Today’s challenge was to write a dating profile for one of my projects. A tough one, I can tell you! Knitting & Crochet Blog week presents a great opportunity to discover new blogs; type ‘5KCBWDAY2′ into google or social media of your choice to see what other bloggers have done with today’s challenge.
Hi, thanks for stopping by! We are a pair of Nereid Fingerless Gloves. We were lovingly knit some three years ago Debbie Bliss Rialto 4ply, a luscious soft merino yarn in a wonderful soft grey. We’ve seen a good bit of wear over the years, but we’ve aged well and you can tell we’ve been taken care off. No pilling and excellent stitch definition still, so as good as new! Once we had a loving and intensive relationship with a great pair of hands, but sadly the hands have long since moved on and now we feel it’s time we finally do too.
What we’re looking for
We were made to keep hands warm when typing, and that’s still what we love to do best. We’d love to find a pair of hands that gets chilly when at the keyboard. We’re quite a small size in a rather feminine pattern, so we think we’d be a great match for a slender female, but we’re lonely and quite stretchy really, so we feel we can accommodate hand of quite a variety of sizes. In other words, we’re willing to be adventurous for change!
We’re really looking for a long term relationship with a pair of hands. We wish to be loved and cared for again, and in return we can promise warm hands for many, many years to come.
What we don’t like
We’re really a bit delicate due to the nature of the Nereid knitting pattern on which we were modelled, and so we are not well suited for any other than delicate work. We detest getting wet and while we can be washed if we do get dirty, we’d much rather avoid the hassle of it as much as possible. So if you’re an outdoorsy pair of hands wanting gloves to keep you warm out in the rain or when doing something distasteful as manual labour, we’re not the gloves for you.
Get in touch!
If you think you’re the pair of hands to make us happy again, and to be kept warm and comfortable by us, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We’d love to hear from you!
