Introducing: Tidal Beach Shawl

It’s done. The shawl knitted to my very first own design. Let me introduce Tidal Beach.

So named because the ripples in the shawl remind me of the ripples left in the sand on the beach after the sea recedes.

It’s been quite a learning curve, with many mistakes made along the way, and many lessons learned too. I thoroughly enjoyed the process, and I love the end result. It looks quite like I envisioned it would too!

The yarn, Fyberspates Scrumptious Lace (slate) really does the shawl justice too. It’s a wonderful yarn to work with, and so lovely soft and shiny in the finished item.

I finished and blocked the shawl on Saturday, and have been putting the finishing touches on the pattern over the last few days. The first draft is now finished. I’m in the process of engaging a tech editor to check it over before I find done test knitters.

I do need some better pictures. Photography really isn’t my strong suit though, and the weather has not been cooperating either. Hopefully over the next few days!

UPDATE: Tidal Beach is now published. Check it out on Ravelry or buy now.

It looks very beautiful. I can see why you named it that.
