This week’s news:

  • Knitting and running marathons

I used to run. I actually used to run quite a lot. These days, I just can’t seem to find the time. If I have a rare spare moment I much rather spend it knitting.

Silly me. I should have been combining the two things. Like this guys who runs marathons while knitting scarves. Imagine that. Apparently it’s a thing.

  • Knitting in India
It never ceases to amaze me that knitting appears, in different forms, the world over. There’s many different knitting traditions.

Take India for example. This story tells us of a festival where colourful knitted ropes are used to control bulls. Fascinating stuff.

  • Fibre Arts: knitted light fixtures
I love unusual and innovative uses of knitting, such as this Israeli artist’s use of specially developed fibres to knit light fixtures. I think they look amazing.
